The main component of Pro-Mix is sphagnum peat moss. A fossil plant material that originated in peat bogs, which are reputed to be enormously moist, it lightens soils and enriches the soil for your crops. Its ability to retain water ensures excellent drainage, so your plants' roots can breathe and develop optimally.
The other components of this substrate are :
- Perlite: an expanded volcanic rock that aids water drainage and air porosity.
